Matt Pirozzi, Level 1 Trainer, Gymnastics Coach
Coach Matt has been a lifelong believer in health, fitness, and being active. He played baseball and soccer competitively in high school and went on to play Division II Soccer in college. Although he continued to be involved with soccer outside of college; coaching JV and Varsity teams as well as participating in local soccer leagues, Matt still looked for a sport that would challenge him as an athlete and a competitor.
Matt began doing CrossFit with Coach Mariana in 2010 and has evolved from just a soccer player into a well respected CrossFit athlete and coach. Just a year after starting CrossFit Matt began competing. Within the last three years Matt has done numerous competitions and has placed top ten in all of them. Matt competes yearly in the Reebok CrossFit Open and has made great improvements each year. Matt officially received his CrossFit Coaching certification in 2012 and his CrossFit Gymnastics certification in 2013. Matt likes to coach a wide range of athletes, from brand new CrossFit members to elite competitors, including a 2014 Regionals Athlete and a three-time CrossFit Games Masters Athlete. Matt enjoys seeing the success of all the athletes he coaches, whether it be a first pull-up or a 300 lb. back squat.

Nathan Carter, Level 1 Trainer
Although Coach Nathan was involved in sports as a child, it wasn’t until 2006, when he enlisted in the United States Army, that fitness became a focus in his life. Nathan initially began his fitness journey through the investment of time in a global gym.
While deployed to Afghanistan, in 2013, Nathan discovered Crossfit. During his deployment, Nathan began training independently during his free time; however, other soldiers quickly became intrigued and began to join Nathan in his daily workouts. It was then that Nathan decided that becoming a certified Crossfit trainer was something he wanted to pursue.
After returning home from Afghanistan, in 2014, Nathan completed the Crossfit trainer course at Crossfit Mayhem in Cookeville, Tennessee. Prior to moving to Long Island, Nathan spent one year coaching at Screaming Eagle Crossfit in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Since starting Crossfit, Nathan has seen, and continues to see, gains and improvements in his strength and conditioning abilities. As a coach, Nathan appreciates opportunities to motivate and assist athletes, of a variety of skill levels, in achieving new personal records (PRs) and improving their overall health & fitness.
