Mariana GoncalvesOwner, CrossFit Level 2 Coach
Although she founded CrossFit Kryptonite in 2010, Mariana has been an advocate of health, fitness, and clean eating her entire life. In addition to holding her Level 2 coaching certification, she is certified in CrossFit Kettlebell and Olympic Weightlifting. She is also a USAW Level 1 Coach. Mariana was also an avid Master’s competitor. She placed 25th, 28th, and 54th in the world (2012, 2013, and 2017) and took first place in the Nor’Easter Master’s Competition hosted by Reebok CrossFit One in 2013.

Javier Aponte – CrossFit Level 2 Coach
In addition to his CrossFit Level 2 certification, Javier is certified in CrossFit Kids, Kettlebell, and Striking.

Kelly Daugherty – CrossFit Level 2 Coach
Kelly started her CrossFit journey by walking into Kryptonite in 2010. Eager to try something new, she signed up. A few years in, Kelly completed her Level 1 Certification and two years ago completed her Level 2 Certification. Kelly loves working hard, pushing herself, and encouraging others  to do the same. Don’t be afraid to try something new!

Brian Deedy – CrossFit Level 1 Coach

Janel Duffy – CrossFit Level 1 Coach
Janel has been involved in the CrossFit world for over eight years, starting first as an athlete, and for the last five years has held her CFL1 Certification. Janel has been a local competitor in numerous competitions on Long Island, Connectivity, and New York City. She loves the community aspect of CrossFit and is excited when helping new members feel comfortable and reach their untapped potential. Janel did CrossFit throughout her pregnancy last year and feels very comfortable making workouts and movements accessible for people across the spectrum of their fitness journey.

Don Fox – CrossFit Level 1 Coach
Don started CrossFit in 2017 and enjoys the challenges of improving his overall fitness and learning the various skills for the workouts. He became a coach because he wants to help people learn how to move better, feel better, and be better. His favorite workouts include the Olympic lifts, intense cardiovascular work, and chipper-style WODs. “CrossFit has made me stronger moving throughout the day. It has shown me the importance of a proper diet and how to take care of my body when it needs some TLC. I’m more fit in my 40s than I was in my 20s.

Sarah Goncalves – Certified Personal Trainer
Sarah is a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, NASM-Certified Nutrition Coach, and USAW Level 1 Weightlifting Coach. She started her CrossFit journey in 2010 and has experience coaching CrossFit group and introductory classes, as well as one-on-one coaching sessions, for the last eight years. She is also certified in CPR/AED. Sarah has competed in several local competitions across New York and New Jersey.

Mike Griffiths – CrossFit Level 1 Coach

Marcus LaPiana, Certified Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor
Marcus is a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer, youth fitness trainer, and exercise therapy trainer. He also specializes in fitness nutrition and is CPR/AED-certified. Marcus has several competitions under his belt, including the 2014 Triton Games, where he took 3rd place.
